Indie Music for Haiti

Want your music to help rebuild a hospital? Wish your song could move people out of the slums and into new homes in the country? It can!

At Indie Music for Haiti, we’ve created a simple video and audio upload-and-tagging system that makes it easy for you to post video and audio files, then specify which Haiti-related charity you want viewers to support. And, since the administrative and design costs associated with this site are being donated by companies like ServInt, Simple Station and Asparagus Media, 100% of any revenue generated by your music will go straight to the charity of your choice.

The rules are simple:

1. Though the site is moderated to ensure that we don’t get overwhelmed with spam, or unwatchable, 10-second cell phone camera clips, or crazy people singing about how the disaster was God’s will—anything else goes, as long as you tell viewers in your description text block to give to a Haitian relief charity you specify.  Please note that your song doesn't have to be sad, or reference Haiti, or even necessarily be deep and thoughtful!  It just needs to motivate people to donate to your favorite Haiti relief organization.
2. We assume that you own the rights to the music you post, or have been granted permission by the owner to post it.
3. We assume your audio or video content doesn’t violate somebody else’s copyright by including their recorded music, photographs, artwork, and so forth.
4. We assume everybody in your video has given you permission to distribute it, including the parents of anybody younger than 18.
5. We assume that by submitting your audio and video content, you are granting rights to Indie Music for Haiti to post your content and use it as described in the Terms Of Service.
6. We assume the charity to which you direct viewers is real. If we discover it isn’t—before suffering the burning fires of hell once you die—the relevant prosecuting authorities will be notified, and you will be banned from the site. Need more detail?
